I did this just about two days ago. Then, after some very serious performence degradation and false positives, not resolved by uninstalling, reinsytalling, I switched to another. I had a similar problem on a desktop, by using task manager or Process Explorer (www.sysinternals.com) I found my problem was inetinfo.exe. I've emailed HP and Microsoft on this problem and their expedient reply is "go get it fixed by an authorized repair facility". weblink

You may want to consider purchasing a larger laptop hard drive.
