The error message varies, KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE, PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA, MEMORY MANAGEMENT, and IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL among others. Either it would crash during system restore or it would tell me the restore didn't succeed because of an unknown error. That's a whole different story.
All together: C:\drivers\105795\IDE\WinXP\Current Copy the files in this folder to a floppy disk and put it in your A: drive. I posted to the Dell forums, we will see what that generates. You need to install SATA drivers when putting in a SATA drive for the first time.
